I agree with you, we should end government dependency: Why you pay more in taxes than GE (http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/pay-taxes-ge-article-1.1061158)
I am very happy you agree. As far as GE concerned, did you ever asked yourself why Mr. "Hope and Change" isn't working on this? Instead he is smuggling thousands of illegals to suppress American wages farther down? I know you will say that reps are on the way, but that can be true, because they are on the way of immigration "reform" and government take over of healthcare too, right? So as we see, this argument doesn't fit well with the pattern. Could it be that it he isn't working on this issue because Immelt owns NBC, staunch supporter of his? Do you really believe that he is fighting for you? How many times he visited Compton, Santee, on the other hand Beverly Hills and La Jolla? Stop buying this nonsense dems are feeding their supporters. With all their millions and billions, millionaire and billionaire friends their care about regular people-yeah, right!
Also, on a serious note, despite my disagreeing with all of those who have used the religions for nefarious ends, I do believe the reason the book remains popular for eons is that the true depths of human suffering, confusion, hatred, love and compassion are reflected within its pages.
"Even if its just a token It was good for giving hope to People who were broken"
Full stop. We can't have these conversations and expect any understanding when you dive off the deep end with hyperbole like this. Obama has continued deportations, even aggressively so. Congress won't address immigration reform mainly because the GOP House banks on their quasi-racist hard line on the topic.
Obama can't just close tax loopholes or reverse tax incentives for corporations who offshore operations and money by fiat.
What racism? If there is a racism, it's against white people and Asians, because they have the hardest time getting in US - they actually need visas. GOP says they will not have conversation until border is secured. Don't you think that's the right approach? What about the Dream act? It is working now without house approval, isn't it? That's all I'm saying - GOP isn't on his way, when he wants it, so don't bring that argument. As far as deportations, it is not so clear like you presenting: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/monkey-cage/wp/2014/04/21/lies-damned-lies-and-obamas-deportation-statistics/ Why can't he just close tax loopholes? Doesn't he have a pen and phone?
How do you suggest President Obama secure the border?
Why can't he just close tax loopholes? Doesn't he have a pen and phone?
You realize that using Executive Orders to change the tax code would create a massive outcry by Republicans? They're already accusing him of some Imperial Presidency stuff, even though his use of such signing orders and such is far less than his predecessor.
Republicans admit racism is contributing to immigration reform gridlock (http://www.salon.com/2014/01/30/republicans_admit_racism_is_contributing_to_immigration_reform_gridlock/)
GOP says they will not have conversation until border is secured. Don't you think that's the right approach?
What makes it the right approach? The problem is we already have millions of undocumented immigrants already here. That's a problem for us, irrespective of whether the "borders are secure." If anything, there needs to be a joint approach - one that "secures the borders" while also realistically addressing the millions of people living and working in this country.
But practically and politically speaking, this "secure borders" claptrap is just a red herring - a conveniently non-racist sounding rationale not to do anything productive about our immigration issues that so-happens to be a pie-in-the-sky demand without precisely identified benchmarks. How "secure" is secure, for instance? How many billions of dollars do we have to spend on border patrol agents and border-control technology and infrastructure, before we can finally turn to creating a ten-year-long glide path to quasi-citizenship for people who have always thought of the U.S. as their home? Talking about "border security" as a precondition to even talking about immigration reform is just like complaining that you don't trust the presidency or holding endless hearings trying to figure out what happened to some IRS official's e-mails. A massive diversion, political theater, utterly nonsensical red meat.
No, I didn't because it's probably not true. I know they cook a lot of numbers. Here an article that claims opposite of yours. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/aug/10/american-principles-action/has-barack-obama-deported-more-people-any-other-pr/ If we consider the current events, it looks that they rather importing them.
From your citation (did you read it? Because it agrees with me)
"Such patterns do not explain the 57 percent bump in monthly deportations that we found under Obama."
And
"Technically, the ad isn’t correct to say that Barack Obama "has deported more people than any other president in this country's history," since George W. Bush cumulatively deported more over his full eight-year term -- and since Bush would remain ahead of Obama if Mitt Romney wins the presidency in November.
However, we -- and the experts we interviewed -- agree that the ad is right to note a significant jump in deportations under Obama. Measured by the monthly frequency of deportation, Obama’s numbers are significantly higher than Bush’s were, even as the estimated population of illegal immigrants was falling."
That was from Obama's first term. He won the elections and the rate of deportations did not decrease.
