Though something called the "death tax" sounds ominous, Bill Maher explained on "Real Time" why taxing inherited wealth is actually a good thing. Namely, he just called out some kids who will inherit fortunes for being "entitled jerks." Maher's outrageous examples include Kylie Jenner texting while driving after Bruce Jenner's deadly accident; and Paris Hilton's brother Conrad Hughes Hilton III needing to be restrained on a flight.

ISIS Jihadists Destroy 3,000-Year-Old Statues in musuems.
ISIS burns Mosul library: Why terrorists target books.
In northern Iraq, Islamic State militants burned the Mosul public library, which housed more than 8,000 rare old books and manuscripts.
According to reports, ISIS militants rigged the entire building with explosives and carried out multiple detonations to raze the historical landmark and its contents. Among its lost collections, according to the Fiscal Times, were manuscripts from the 18th century, Syriac books printed in Iraq's first printing house in the 19th century, books from the Ottoman era, Iraqi newspapers from the early 20th century, and treasured antiques like an astrolabe and sand glass used by ancient Arabs.
The Exorcist shot on location in North Iraq in the 1970s at the Hatra Complex; the area is in territory claimed by the Islamic State in Iraq. It's not clear if the temples and statuary were destroyed.

Clip from The Exorcist:
NBC Nightly News report on the destruction.
The desecration is "an affront to any civilized person anywhere," Peter Herdrich, co-founder of The Antiquities Coalition, told NBC News by email. "These objects are part of humanity's shared cultural heritage and help to tell the story of all of us. Since they are irreplaceable, it's impossible to put a value on them, so it is safe to say they are priceless." In New York, U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric said the U.N.'s cultural agency, UNESCO, is examining the video. "The destruction of cultural heritage is reprehensible and criminal," Dujarric said, adding that it robs current and future generations of their past.

Christine Weick is Internet famous for her video showing a link to Monster Drinks and Satanism and the Antichrist.
In the video, the woman claims that "M" logo could appear to resemble three instances of the letter Vav, the Hebrew numeral for six, interpreting the logo to mean "666." Later, she references Monster's slogan on a product banner reading "Unleash the Beast," interpreting these two examples as Monster Energy intending to reference "the beast" in the Book of Revelations. "This is not a Christian company at all. So why would they have a cross on the can? here is the message: Anti-christ." The woman claims that a cross in the letter "O" of Monster resembles a crucifix, and says that when the can is held is upside-down when drinking, the symbol in inverted. She believes that this inverted crucifix is meant to symbolize Satanism. "Bottom's up. And the devil laughs," the woman said in the video. "This is how clever Satan is and how he gets into the Christian home and a Christian's life."

Sen. Buchy, a Republican from OH, while being interviewed about one of the laws he is co-sponsoring, states that his ultimate goal is to make all abortions illegal. The question asked of him after that apparently scrambles his brains. The irony, it burns.
If you look really closely, you can almost see what little bit of a brain he's got leaking out of his ears.
Here's a thought - maybe you shouldn't use the power of public office to legislate against things you admit you don't understand and blatantly admit that you've never given thought to?

Since I get the feeling most of you are Americans, and I have no idea how much anything that goes on in Toronto is repoted outside of it:
Toronto's current Mayor recently ordered a report of ways to save money in the budget, which included things like cutting the fluoridation of the water, scrapping the late-night bus routes, and closing down 10% of our library system.
They then announced a city council meeting, asking people to come and have 5 minutes to deputize. 280 people came (though a good portion of them later went home); the meeting ran all night, for approximately 22 hours. The above video is extremely sarcastic.
