Russians headed to parliamentary polls on Sunday, with parties loyal to President Vladimir Putin expected to maintain their
dominance as the Kremlin sought to make a show of eliminating voter fraud after mass opposition protests. Legislative elections
were held in Russia on 18 September 2016, having been brought forward from 4 December. At stake were the 450 seats in the
State Duma of the 7th convocation, the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia. Prior to the election United Russia had
been the ruling party since winning the 2011 elections with 49.32% of the vote, and taking 238 seats (53%) of the seats in the State Duma.

Ken Nordine's "Smerd" from his third album "Next" (later reissued on other compilations)
draws on the history of Harry Truman taking his campaign across the country by train.
The content is not about Truman, it applies to a politician's pathology for saying whatever
it takes to get whatever they want.

best known for his series of Word Jazz albums. His deep, resonant voice has also been

Ominous Situation To Be In

I received a lot of flak from certain members of the livejournal community for my earlier posting titled "Personally I prefer to eat cupcakes". But in light of the current political situation in the Mideast, which is depicted in my image "It Must Have Been an Interesting Discussion", I thought to create another interpretation of the Mideast situation that draws upon the "messages" of both of those earlier images. As I mentioned in an earlier discussion, I display my "sardonic" sense of humor in my imagery.
