Community Profile

After searching for communities for political cartoons and not finding any, I decided to create one of my own.

This community is to post political cartoons, discuss them, etc. Any type of political humor is acceptable, including other (non-cartoon) images and (text only) jokes.

The only rules are:
1. If an image is large or the post is excessively long, I ask that you use the lj-cut tag. To use the tag, follow the instructions here.
2. You may post up to three images before an lj-cut tag is required
3. Please do not spam the community. This means more than one post in a row. For now there is no limit on the number of posts per day, but we do not need to see post after post by the same user within minutes of each other.
4. No personal attacks.
5. Don't delete or disable comments. Have the balls to take credit for what you say (good or bad).
6. Please stick to the funny. This community is about political humor, not to complain about views of others that you disagree with, no matter how radical they may seem.

But perhaps I need to elaborate on some things that I consider to be serious infractions.

A) Any attempt to drag someone's real life into a political debate is walking on very thin ice. It may be forgivable if that real life information is commonly known via standard interactions on Livejournal. It will definitely not be tolerated if you opt to use interactions in this community as a potential threat to cause damage to someone in real life.

B) Don't delete or deceptively edit posts or comments. I consider editing a post or comment comparable to deleting it if you use that edit to change the images or the meaning of your posting. There is never anything wrong with adding annotated edit to the end of your messages, but don't change what was there.

C) If you don't care enough to explain to the mod why you broke the rules, then don't pretend to be a martyr for your political affiliation. I'm going to contact anyone who breaks the rules to find out why. Not answering in some show of faux civil disobedience isn't being a rebel... it's being a douche bag.

D) If you are antagonistic and rude around here, it would be in your best interest to follow the rules. It's not rocket science. If you're a jerk, there's going to be less tolerance for your infractions. Follow the rules and you will never hear from me in a mod capacity.
