Interesting that the image implies that Brown's alleged actions are a reflection of "liberal progressive" values. I assume we're applying the same standard anytime a conservative does something wrong, right?
A person doing something wrong reflects badly on that person, not on that person's party. Casting Brown's alleged misdeeds as somehow related to being a "leftist progressive" is just lazy.
Those things are based on an overall pattern of behavior by MANY people on MANY occasions, not on isolated acts by individuals.
I would never claim (and I doubt anyone else here would) that progressives are ALL squeaky clean and conservatives are ALL slimy snakes. There are no angels in politics. (Well, there's Jimmy Carter, but he's kind of in a case by himself, lol.)
That being the case, I am going to vote for the side that supports the values I agree with; i.e., the progressive side. All politicians are flawed human beings, but if I have to choose between a flawed human being who supports things like (to name a few examples) universal health care, protecting women's reproductive rights, making it easier rather than harder for people to vote, etc., rather than a flawed human being who opposes those things, I'm going to pick that first flawed human being.
I don't think this sort of behavior is peculiar to leftists, nor to dynasts like Jerry Brown for that matter. In any case, Fox News's article (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/11/06/california-governor-ordered-state-workers-to-research-oil-drilling-on-family/) says,
Drysdale said the satellite-imaged geological and drilling map prepared by the state for Brown's land took a "few hours."
I guess you're right, however the difference is that leftists get away with that kind of behavior much more frequently, due to MSM bias and zealous supporters. Does it matter how many hours it takes?
Actually no, conservatives get caught at this kind of behavior more often, because they tend to be more selfish, self centred, egotistical, and care only about themselves and their own close circle of friends and family. It's a huge part of their 'values'.
'Leftwing' people as a general rule care more about others beyond themselves. (and I'm using the '' to indicate that as a general rule, those on the left in the US, would in the most part be moderate conservatives in the rest of the world)
Nobody had to tell me that, all I had to do to come to realize that is hear US conservative politicians open their mouth and give out their beliefs.
All they care about is tax cuts for the rich, aka selfish, they don't give a damn about the environment, unless it affects them personally, self centred, and they admire people like Trump for being cowboys, egotistical. And don't get me started on how they think men can get to decide what women need in regards to healthcare.
Look, I'm not saying the democrats are saints, far from it, they are far too right wing for my tastes. But they're able to look beyond themselves and consider the needs of others. And because of this, fewer of them will get caught at doing crap that only profits themselves. They're also smart enough, not to say racist or misogynist crap in an every day interview, the way that American conservatives do on a regular basis. Why, because democrats can look beyond their own bubble and realize how what they say sounds to people that aren't of the same race and/or gender as themselves.
Somone like Sanders still makes mistakes, because he's still an old white man, and Hillary might be privileged as hell. But both of them at least realize that they're not just talking to white people. And that if they say something involving race issues, or immigration, that their words affect the people they're talking about. Something that a great deal of republican politicians seem incapable of. (and keep in mind that liberal leaning news media would jump on any of their own politicians saying anything bad, because liberals as a whole tend to be far more critical of their own, than conservatives are of theirs.
The problem is that the current crop of right wing conservative politicians in the US are extreme rightwing fanatics. Many of whom want to turn the US into a Christian Taliban. They are anti-science, anti-education, anti anything that benefits people other than themselves, and because of that they don't even consider the idea that they might get caught.
I think I need to start looking up that article I read a while back, that proved that the British monarchy actually brings in more money for the UK than that they get.
Seriously, it's been proven as a fact that it would cost the UK more, financially, to lose the monarchy, than it does to keep them
Oh, well, if it makes financial sense to elevate one human being to an unreasonably high status for life, based upon antiquated concepts of Nobility and Superior-ness, well then!
It makes it all better now.
There are many things wrong with Monarchy. Finances is only one of them.
Have you actually missed the point here? Hours of waste or dodgy appropriation, literally hours. It could cost maybe a fewthou tops...pocket money, I'd guess, for a governor.
The Fox report took how long to put together?
As for Her Maj, we actually vote through in parliament how much we give her, so it is democratically mandated, if you like.
I know enough about this matter, to bother with the nonsenses of liberal media, funded by Soros. But, when I have more time, I can read those and discuss with you, if you want.
The first link: So you were expecting Anheuser-Busch to announce that they bribed Clinton. Do you know who is Nazarbaev?
