Since we're on the subject of truth, do you really believe the GOP sincerely thought their House bills to repeal the ACA could ever be passed into law?
No, I think the GOP lost the faith that the Democrats and the President would do the right thing on the ACA some time ago. It doesn't mean you stop trying.
No, I think the GOP lost the faith that the Democrats and the President would do the right thing on the ACA some time ago. It doesn't mean you stop trying.
And Right thing doesn't equal the GOP or conservative thing though.
Actually I kind of think it does. When your party controls one house of Congress and the President who made the ACA his signature legislation was re-elected, that's the time to move on and do something productive.
"What was more important for them to do? Furthermore, what did they not have time to do that they would have had time for had they not voted to repeal the ACA a bunch of times?"
Maybe the truest meaning of the words "narrow minded" ... when jobs, highway bills, immigration and about a million other things do not fit the category of "What was more important". I think the one single most important thing at this point is to convince people this narrow mind approach does nothing to improve our society.
Unfortunately for Jeff, this is aimed at the idiots on HIS side, who continue to propagate right-wing lies about the ACA, Obama's record for executive orders compared to other presidents' and much, much more.
What's great about it is that it can work on both sides, such as the nonfactual Facebook stuff that's shared here on occasion.
Or, like, when people say that most of the nation is buying from the individual market, and that even more have no insurance at all. Or believe in the pay gap.
Abso-fucking-lutely, D Duck. Especially when the person being attacked for issuing them is black--and the fact that his executive orders are no less controversial than others issued by other presidents. Face it, Donald; if you look at all the actual executive orders over the years, you'll find that none of them are any more or less controversial than those of this president. It just happens that this president is a black Democrat, so his are of course considered more outrageous.

Date: 2014-07-13 10:06 pm (UTC)Why? Have you not heard what the definition of insanity is:
Repeating the same experiment over and over again, and expecting different results
How can you be happy people keep beating their head against the wall instead of attempting a different approach?

What other options would you recommend the Republican House do to end the ACA that they didn't try?
