Because before the children, chances are we were barely getting by as it is. Having children is the most economically stupid thing you could do in today's fierce struggle to survive. There is absolutely nothing that will drive you into debt and poverty faster. Except maybe like a catastrophic illness, but at least there's a (shitty) insurance market to try to address that...
Interesting, and it opens up several lines of possible discussion, but since I am planning on spending the day with kids and grandchildren having fun without drugs alcohol, or gambling (or even the internet) I guess I'll pass for now.
I don't break the law, so I never was in jail. Again, we aren't talking about specific cases, but in average. There is no question that it's much easier to make it here and anywhere else. So rather feel sorry for somebody in third world then here. Doesn't mean that every single person here is doing great.
Why would you say something like that? Life is beautiful, under any circumstances. On the second thought, maybe not. Still, can I help you somehow to feel more positive about life?
I have a team of mental health professionals overseeing my mental health treatment including a social worker and psychiatrist and they ask the same question. Still trying to find the answer.
That is not very nice question. Women deserve control over their reproductive capabilities. Its a fundamental basic truth. Societies that empower women to have control over their reproductions do better, period.
I know, but sometimes you have to ask hard questions. Let's be honest-that isn't exactly about reproductive rights. What that even means? Isn't it more precise to say that reproductive right is right to have children? Let's not ignore the fact that the woman isn't only one here. What about the baby? I don't care if somebody wants to kill her baby, sometimes it's the only way out, as you said. But let's be honest and don't claim that it's all good. I think this "reproductive rights" notion benefits irresponsible men that do not want to take responsibility for their action. My only point is that pro-abortion people are a lot more anti-women then the opposite side.
Right to have children, right to not have children. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Accept both, or neither.
And what about "the baby"? In all situations, without exception, her rights trump the rights of anything inside her. She was here first.
As far as "irresponsible men" goes - you make a point. However, it does not follow that pro-choice people are anti-woman. It is the anti-choicers who limit choices for women and thereby diminish their own agency over body and future in the pursuit of ideology.
