The point being that there are many issues that are framed as left right that are in actuality not really polarized in that way. So, when we judge ourselves for swinging to the left, we may merely be talking about gay marriage and abortion, not economic policy and military.
I know what you are saying. I think economic policy is very much left wing issue, don't you advocate obamacare? That is an economic issue, because the main thing here is who pays for it. It is only convoluted in the idea that everybody should have health insurance.
I think economic policy is very much left wing issue
We want one, sure.
don't you advocate obamacare?
Me? I advocate single payer/medicare for all. I did support the Affordable Care Act, which was a Heritage foundation idea to prop up an ailing free market healthcare framework that failed to meet peoples needs. I personally benefited from ACA because I was someone who was denied insurance due to pre-existing condition. However, the best solution is medicare for all / single payer.
It is only convoluted in the idea that everybody should have health insurance
Not many politicians will argue publicly that babies shouldn't eat.
I think, single payer is very bad idea, because of technical reasons. But what we got is a Frankenstein. Don't you have a job? They can't deny insurance to anyone in the group, right? And if you don't have a job, then you could go on Medicaid. I know - you're a rich heir, that to lazy to work! But seriously, I know only one person that doesn't have an insurance, but she doesn't want to have one, unless it's free. I think the safety net in country not too bad, could be better if the fraud that is going is eliminated. If politicians had any courage they would say "babies should eat, but their parents should feed them".
I am self employed currently. I work very hard. The major cause of bankruptcy in America is health care costs. That is not indicative of a good safety net.
I don't doubt you work hard. I'm just curious and not saying this a solution, if health insurance so important for you, why don't you work for a corporation? Here is an interesting fact - I always had an health insurance even when I didn't work, I was buying it and it was absolutely affordable. Now, when I have a pretty descent job, but couldn't afford it on my own. But let try to figure out what happen in between.
I guess Fox news forgot to tell you about the millions of Americans who don't have access to health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. They are the people who don't have insurance from work, and because their REPUBLICAN governors declined to expand Medicaid, they don't qualify for that either. And even with subsidies, they won't be able to afford the health care available in their state. http://healthaffairs.org/blog/2014/01/30/opting-out-of-medicaid-expansion-the-health-and-financial-impacts/ (http://healthaffairs.org/blog/2014/01/30/opting-out-of-medicaid-expansion-the-health-and-financial-impacts/)
Your ignorance on topics that you claim to be knowledgeable about is astounding.
Yes, of course you are an expert on the topic, because you were able to find an article somewhere. Who the heck created the problem. Majority of the people without insurance are the illegals, who were lured here by the same politicians. Have you ever been in ER?
I have 30 years of experience handling group health care insurance. So yeah, I pretty much am an expert. You want to know about ACA, credible coverage, COBRA, health care exchanges, group health care exchanges, the actuarial work that goes into the construction of group policies, price modeling of insurance offerings for small, medium and large international companies - I've done all of this and more.
On the other hand, I'd like to see a single citation other than Fox News supporting your many ignorant statements.
The majority of people without insurance are the illegals? Where did you get this one from? Citation please. Or did you just pull this one out of your ass? See, maybe if you actually looked things up, you would know that you are wrong. https://www.numbersusa.com/blog/rumor-uninsured-illegal-aliens-use-more-health-care-uninsured-native-born-americans (https://www.numbersusa.com/blog/rumor-uninsured-illegal-aliens-use-more-health-care-uninsured-native-born-americans) And the ACA specifically excludes coverage for illegal immigrants regardless of whether a state accepted funds for expanded Medicaid.
I'm really sick of you just stating bullshit without bothering to support your statements. It's time for you to put up, or shut up.
I can get you citations from Rush or Savage. Would you like some? Where is the support of your statements? O yes, of course, you said that you are an expert. Now I'm totally convinced. Which year is now? 5 years after 2009. Is there more immigrants or less? What is the birth rate for them? Is the percentage of uninsured immigrants increasing?
You realize that Rush and Savage don't count as reputable sources, right? They are not subject matter experts. They are talking heads, and you look a fool for resorting to them!
Bwahahaha! Yes Rush is such an expert on shooting his mouth off without knowing what he is talking about. Ditto for Savage. Do you know the difference between journalism and talking heads? How about peer review studies versus pulling stuff out of your ass and calling them facts?
You've asked good questions. Why don't you research this and find some studies that contain FACTS! That means real studies, statistical analysis, not some guy who makes stuff up.
My gods, if this is where you get your 'facts' from then no wonder your posts often sound so stupid.

50%.
1 in 2
That's a fucking shame, and it's terrible for the economy too. But, ya know, Obamacare is a super-liberal trap! But when it was Romneycare.....

It's also not true (http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2010/02/a-little-more-about-medical-bankruptcy/35919/).
It's sort of like how "45 million people are uninsured." In context, the number isn't true, but repeat the lie enough...
