If nothing else the graph is fairly useless, as they failed to label more than 1 axis.

The article I cite goes into detail. What I question is how much weight should "acceptance of homosexuality" have on a left right scale? Is it really a left/right issue?

Or racism for that matter.

An issue of property rights (http://politicartoons.livejournal.com/4293983.html?thread=96969823#t96969823).

Yes, that's the problem. Where is the demographic information? The details on what constitutes "liberal" or "conservative"? Having people self-identify (as they did in this) is useless, since too many simply do not understand the issues well enough to categorize themselves.

This is like asking people what their favorite color is, only to discover they hate the actual color they cite because they're color blind.

Not really.

What questions are they using? How do they translate to the scale graphed? Where's the methodology?

So what's the data source?

I read the article a bit. They relied on people to self-identify their own persuasions instead of asking them specific questions in different phrasing and parsing the actual political standing of the interviewed.

This leads to the all-too-common person who supports labor rights and environmental protections and identifies as a liberal-hating conservative. Probably more than half the country fits that stereotype, so brainwashed they have become.

hearing an obviously dirt-poor man tell me that he always voted republican, cause they are for the little-guy, while Fox was on in the background, was heartbreaking. doubly so cause I was sure I couldn't persuade him otherwise.

Fuck MK-Ultra, just controlling the media is often enough for mind-control.

Which was just as Justice Powell said. And as Joe Overton says to this day.
