I used to be more reactionary on the topic and would have asked you if you're a German tourist but then I realized that many people have scary-looking feet so socks are a good thing because I don't have to view gnarled talons and toe-jam.
So, I wouldn't do it but rock em if you feel like it.
I don't think my feet are particularly gnarly. And I do wear sandals without socks, as well. But, to be frank, for me, it's a comfort thing.
When it's warm enough that I don't want to wear shoes, but don't want my feet to get cold if I am in the shade or a strong breeze comes through, well, socks and sandals are that nice comfy middle point.
I am also a habitual contradictory button-pusher and once someone told me there was something wrong with socks and sandals, I became their biggest fan.
I've never understood it. Giving a fuck about *ME* wearing socks and sandals makes as much sense as giving a fuck about who George Takei likes to fuck. It don't matter.
