There were a lot of people that were dead set against women's suffrage. Lots of those people believed if women were allowed to vote and hold office the United States would fall apart/be destroyed/fall into an ocean of fire/etc. I just thought it was appropriate given the same hysteria exists about some issues today.

It may be a comment on disconnect-type cartoons: the two disasters (giant wasps and mutated smallpox) are being blamed on the suffrage movement.

But yeah, it's lame. If I'm right, then the "I don't care" part doesn't help with comprehension.

The frist one makes no sense date wise. Are they saying that in 2050 Roe v Wade is finally overturned? If so, what does that have to do with McCain? It's just more fear-mongering by the anti-life crowd.
