It's pretty well known that the Israeli Defence Force use palestinian civilians, particularly minors, as human shields, even after it was made illegal.

Lots of supporting evidence but this one (http://newstandardnews.net/content/index.cfm/items/2331) includes some particularly nasty quotes.

"We initially thought [the testimonies] were not credible, given that they were so shocking: physically using people as shields, forcing them to walk in front of soldiers, even resting a rifle on their shoulder, hiding behind them when going into houses,"

"In April 2004, the Israeli army was caught on film after they tied a 13-year-old Palestinian boy, Mohammed Bedwan, to the front of a border police jeep"

When you see this combined with IDF snipers shooting innocent children, and F16's firing missiles into crowded streets, the only difference between the suicide bombers and the IDF is that one is better armed, and has killed many many more civilians than the other.

I'm not really sure what your point is here.

Are you saying that Palestinians strap their children to themselves? Or are you saying that they strap Israeli children to themselves? Do you have any documentation that Palestinians have strapped any children to anything as a human shield?

It appears that it's Israelis who are strapping children to to themselves and using them as human shields, not the Palestinians. So far, the only evidence that Palestinians strap children to themselves is the Randroid cartoon, which really doesn't count as evidence. If you could find an actual news item which alleges this, then that would clarify things.

I might have been a bit hasty. I probably should have written:

"It appears that the Randroids have it exactly backwards."

Instead of phrasing it as a question. Language is so subtle.

Only bigots thinks it's ok to kill people because they are jewish, arab, muslim, etc. Shame that those people seem to control parts of Israeli, Palestinian and american politics.

The cartoon is especially incorrect because hammas-linked terrorists don't actually physically use human shields but the IDF do, terrorists like all criminals do tend to live in urban areas and go to normal shops to buy their groceries along side civilians. This shouldn't come as a surprise, and certainly doesn't make it ok to fucking blow them up.

In northern ireland we managed to inprison terrorists, in fact israel has inprisoned terrorists, sometimes there is even a trial, the israeli police force also has a far better record of not killing (suspected) suicide bombers than the UK which has managed to shoot 2 innocent people and 0 terrorists.

Unfortunately the good work done is underminded by frequent and utterly disproportinate responses, deliberately targeting and terrorising the palestinian civilian population either through destruction of property, 'rogue' snipers, and open warfare against civilian people and government

To the extent this is happening, it's illegal currently under Israeli law. The IDF has been enjoined from this practice since 2002, when the accusations first started. So where are the Palestinian high courts saying it's improper to blow up and kidnap Israelis, and call for their destruction?
