There should really be a second cow emblazoned with "Tax Payers."

Or at least "Social Security Trust Fund".

National Guard ain't a falling down cow, and Bush ain't a milkin' happy farmer.

This cartoon fails.

So 6000 troops on border duty, which is basically supporting the civilians in the Border Patrol, is somehow strenuous for the National Guard?

I don't quite get it - is the cow supposed to be overmilked or underfed?

Great Cartoon. It's kind of funny this whole idea about the National Guard being sent to the border and this asinine administration not actually FIXING border security. But that’s this administration in a nutshell. Band-aid broken shit and stroking the base come election time. The question I have is if this is going to be an AT (Annual Training) situation or ADT (Active Duty For Training) situation for the guard? I was in the reserves for a couple years and would imagine it just may be a Active Duty For Training deployment.

I would much rather the National Guard be defending the border than fighting insurgents in some camel-dung desert shithole somewhere.

I could have sworn I remember the President saying he wasn't going to use the National Guard along the border, that he felt that was the job of the border patrol.

Was I hallucinating ?
