While the warning is undoubtedly true, the implied sense of grimly pleased schadenfreude is, I think, misplaced.

The rich and powerful so complicit in allowing environmental damage to continue, so long as it is personally enriching to themselves... know this:

Even if it ruins the world... Its better to be rich in that ruined world, than poor.

I guess it all depends on how bad that world gets. Beyond a certain threshold, currency becomes worthless, because you can't eat gold.
