Not political, but deeper than I first assumed

I know joke is a joke and all, but I actually sat and thought about this one for a bit. Both of my kids were born out of wedlock, does this make them any less valuable? I strongly disagree with anyone who says that they are.

Well she doesn't hate me despite the fact that I call everything a bastard. Especially at work.
