Obama is playing this right. A strong response. Ebola wont take hold here, but there will be some scare over the next several months while we get Liberia under control, etc. Wonder what the optics will be in 2016 for this.
I thought the main complaint (right-wing driven) is that he was too weak: demanding travel bans from Africa, not being American-nativist enough. In this light, sending troops in was wrong, for the risk of increasing American cases.
Provided that this does not become a big cinematic-like disaster, I expect it will be almost completely forgotten.
Those are counter productive positions. Allowing the virus to continue to spread unchecked would only perpetuate the problem, which worsens with time. The travel ban would also be counter productive as our mobility actually offers so many advantages versus only few risks.
