Keeping in the vein of Republicans are all evil, I offer you this twist: Republicans don't actually exist.

The GOP is trying to convince us all that they are actually an incredibly diverse bunch of people.

The people that they used in this ad campaign are all just stock images.

Here's the clip for a frame of reference:

The interesting thing I notice about these new ads, in which the Republicans are trying to identify with the general public, is that they seem to steer clear of the specifics of their policies.

You mean like the ultra sound test for women considering an abortion? Absolutely.

That and so much more, like the way they believe that women's employers should be able to make it more difficult and costly for women to get birth control, because it offends their religion, along with their general enslavement to Wall Street and the NRA etc.

And the fact that they are evil, of course.

This is essentially, "we are liberal stereotypes too!"

I guess they are desperate to convince us that they don't really hate women, workers, minorities; it's just that our interests aren't their priorities, heh.

Remember Downtown Scott Brown? He just said that voters don't care about reproductive rights or equal pay for women.

If he was more honest, he'd just say that Republicans don't care about those things.

I'm pretty sure that the stock image they used of the New York Times was of the Wall Street Journal, as well.

...at least they payed for the stock images. It would have been really bad had they left the watermark on...

Frankly, if you actually have to go to the trouble of making an ad to try to convince people that you're not a soulless robot, you've got bigger problems than what a simple ad can fix.

But hey, the Republicans can keep shouting "I LOVE LAMP" all they want until November. We'll just be over here laughing our asses off.

That whole "Republicans are people too" schtick, and the above, reminds me of the Doonesbury run of strips from back in 1984, when Mike Doonesbury gets roped into writing ad copy for Reagan's re-election campaign, and the only thing he's able to come up with is "Reagan: He's No Racist".
