Yeah, as farchivist said, Walid Shoebat is kind of terrible. He's an "ex-terrorist" (meaning he's actually a lying scam artist milking the right-wing talk circuit) and is very likely kind of unhinged. He's sort of a convenient mouthpiece the right uses whenever they want to hear something from the "horse's mouth" to validate their preconcieved notions.
Right. Funny how the neoconservatives tend to change the closer they get to living in their policies aftermaths (http://www.democracynow.org/2014/9/2/as_jury_takes_up_blackwater_massacre).

Even as misanthropic as I am, I cannot believe that our leaders don't understand what their meddling will lead to. The inescapable conclusion is that endless war is the desired outcome. Eisenhower warned us...
I dunno. This type of stuff reminds me of rabbit hole media wars. I never thought Fonda was evil for being photographed with the NVA, so I would extend a benefit of the doubt here. I want them talking with unsavory characters, ya feel me?
Certain forms of it. McCain is likely trying to negotiate arms deals in those shots and I am highly opposed to offering any mujaheddin weapons, moderate or no. I would advocate putting American boots on the ground before I would support arming militias.
I actually don't care about such meetings... things change, people change... but part of the current partisan toolbox is insinuating change never happens, and McCain is a big part of that finger-pointing game.
I don't get McCain. He really should know better. Oh well. Someone told me he ratted on the older soldiers under torture, his nickname was “Songbird". No idea if that's true or not. Oh well, I'd break under torture, I think.

Thanks Charlie Wilson.

Date: 2014-09-17 07:20 pm (UTC)McCain was tortured for months. That's time enough for an imaginative torturer to break anyone: and I mean anyone.
