I remember being like 15 or 16, and thinking:

Why do we give kids a free education if we don't give them healthcare afterwards? I mean, why spend the dough to make em smart if you just let em die?

Someone informed me, some people don't like public education.

My mind was blown.

It's still somewhat mind-boggling.

When I had my first job at 15, I was thinking, why do I pay taxes when I'm not allowed to vote on where those taxes go?

It's alright, because the lawyer they appoint is usually pretty crappy anyway.

I would like to take this occasion to thank Obamacare for making it possible for my daughter to get medical coverage, for the first time since she turned 26 and my husband and I were no longer allowed to keep her on our plan.

Just felt like saying that. She got the card in the mail yesterday, so yeah. Health coverage after 3 years without it IS a big deal.
