That looks like a trick: there's no 'end evil' option'!,
except perhaps human extinction.

WRT 1) Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. The first cartoon is propaganda to get democrats to stop voting democrat. Its produced by evil A in the hope that people in the other line think they're in an 'evil b' line so that evil A wins. Fuck Evil A.

WRT 2) God damnit Coup i used to like you and now i have to realize how dumb you are.

You list a whole bunch of shit that the democrats are for and Republicans are against and then you say fuck the democrats?

And you wonder why democrats can't get liberal shit done? Protip, its because motherfuckers produce shit like this so that their constituents stop voting for them!

Many "Democrats" are bad guys. At some point you have to stand for progressive principles and not the party.

Many people are bad people. At some point you have to stand for progressive principles and not against people.

Its actually very simple. Democrats are working for the causes you support. And may or may not be perfect angels of perfectness in every way you want. You either vote for them and get shit done, and push them towards more progressive stances by caucusing and making your voice heard in the traditional manner of politics.

Or you get nothing. No, you get worse than nothing. You get Republicanism.

I for one stand for progressive principles. And its why i vote democratic. Because otherwise i get Republicanism. And every time you shits out there give me that wishy washy both sides are bad shit all i get is more god damned Republicanism. More homophobic legislation. More racism. More inequality. Worse tax structures. Anti-union laws. The fucking works.

Its your fault for not standing by the progressive principles you claim to support.

I'm from Missouri. I voted for Democrats. I got Jay Nixon and killer Kuklux cops. Monsanto is trying to kill all plant life they don't own--literally, that's their business plan, and the government won't stop them.

I am done. Democracy has failed, compromise is deadly, only revolution can save us.

You want to save your country, you get yourself a band of armed men and conquer it by force, the way almost all successful revolutionaries have done forever.

Edit: No, that's off-topic. Maybe you don't need the armed struggle (although I think the winners will be those who shoot the other guys), but you have to stop thinking it's a binary choice between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats are not necessarily progressives. Progressives have to support progressives, not Democrats qua Democrats.

Yall voted for Romney/Ryan

You live in a slave state with a history of racism

Your state senate and house are over supermajority republican

Yet because you have a democratic governor you blame them.

No fucking wonder your state is so fucked up

And this writ large is the current problem with America.

No.

I blame the gerrymandered legislature, I blame Rush Limbaugh, I blame the churches, I blame the teachers in the schools.

I thought Jay Nixon was a good guy. I really did. But he protects bad cops, and that's a big deal to me. And it's becoming clear to me now that the local Democratic Party I worked for was infested with "conservatives" and indifferent to black outreach.

I don't think anymore there are enough progressives in the state to make a functional democracy. I will not vote for one band of evil men over another and pretend it's helping.

I don't think there are enough firefighters near my house to fight this fire. I won't sling a single bucket and pretend it is helping.

It takes people seeing other people standing for principle to encourage them to do the same.

I used to agree with 1), until I saw the shit ton of money getting poured into the parties and realized that nothing gets done without that money.

This means that nothing that stops the money taps pouring gets considered.

Look at the banking "re-regulation." The derivatives that helped cause the last crash? Derivative holders will be the first reimbursed. What happens when a bank gets shaky? Bail-in, meaning depositors not under FDIC get the haircut, not the owners and shareholders. How about that separation between investment and depository banks, the one that kept things from crashing since Glass Steagall, the one ignored starting in '83 and finally repealed in '99? Still quite joined.

And this was the regulation called Dodd (D) Frank (D).

While I agree that less GOP is better, I feel that nothing that doesn't stop the money flows will do a damned thing.

Clearly since Dodd and Frank didn't get everything they wanted* the Democrats are evil.

*largely as a result of posts like yours bemoaning the imperfection of the party. And the attitudes that it spawns and the voting patterns that result.

Not evil, just for sale. Whoever has the gold makes the rules.

I think Lawrence Lessig's Mayday Pac (https://mayday.us/) is the best attempt yet to reform the system from within, but if they can't make headway against the monied tsunami, it'll be pitchforks and torches time.
