The artist's opinion seems to be that we're being nickeled and dimed to death with pointless laws- that government is ever expanding into areas that really don't need close regulation. Which I would agree with to a point (over-regulation of raw milk, eggs, and now artisinal cheeses, regulating which consenting adults can marry, etc). And I pulled this from a Libertarian blog, so...

I don't think any of the laws in the comics are pointless. Misguided, maybe, but not "laws for the hell of it cause laws are so much fun", and I don't really have sympathy for people who choose not to follow reasonable expectations.

The gun in the purse is the only one that I think is a serious offense.
