Unfortunately this will really have little effect. Even after it blows up one of two things will happen: a) Rove will be found somewhat responsible. Bush will do nothing, relying on the exact wording of his statement (I don't have it offhand, but it essentially lets him off the hook from dismissing Rove because he didn't name her by name, just by reference, and Bush said he'd fire whoever named her.) b) Rove will be found responsible. Bush will 'fire' him yet still take unofficial consultation or put him in another official position, or, god forbid he goes to jail, pardon him on the way out.
Bush is going to have his own, "I depends on what your definition of 'is' is." Rove will do no time because he has been with Bush for over a decade. But it would be justice if Mr. Rove's treason got him a trip to that wonderfully comfortable island paradise called Gitmo.
