I think it's great that a cartoon about the left and the right agreeing on something is able to bring us all together.

Congratulations on making their mission sucessful. Because every time they attack us, it will bring the American left more fuel to get us out of that region and away from dealing with them there. Woot.

Good idea. Then we'll only have to worry about them attacking us every 3 years or so like on 9/11 and before. Poor terrorists, we need to stop bullying them.

Then again. . .

We could take a cue from Switzerland, give up our worship of being an imperial superpower, and leave everyone else the hell alone.

Ever notice Switzerland doesn't have terrorist attacks aimed at them all the time?

Neither did America until our government decided it wanted to be an imperial superpower.

Yeah, if only that would work. We're the most powerful country because of how prosperous we are, due to our freedom and founding fathers. We're a superpower no matter what we do...unless you want us to be truly socialist and give all our money to other countries so we can be no better than anyone else. Of course then we'd have no defense...but of course we can depend on the terrorists to leave us alone and live in peace with us then.

As someone who was in London last Thursday, I must say that I was tremendously relieved that we had 'dealt with them there' when I couldn't meet my friends due to corpses in the tube tunnels.

We're DEALING with them there. You're proving my point. They know by doing what they're doing that they'll create dumbasses like you to oppose our efforts. This is why people say that Liberals are the terrorists best allies. Nobody else has the power to end this war on terrorism than them, and the terrorists realize this.

The organisation behind the bombing, so far as we can make out, was based in Europe. How, exactly, was that 'dealt with there?' I understood the whole flypaper idea was to stop this kind of atrocity from happening. In that, it's failed twice in Europe, at the cost of hundreds of lives. I'm not advocating or opposing any course of action, just saying that 'if we're dealing with them there they can't attack us here' is plain wrong.

No, i expect you to read all of this

http://www.mtholyoke.edu/acad/intrel/waltz1.htm

And if you cannot, then you really dont have much of a foot to stand on. I expect you to educate yourself in foriegn relations, and i expect to motivate yourself on human motives and thiking processes.

Reading varied viewpoints on the situation and other in international relations will help you understand the situation better.

Also, for the record, above when you mentioned that if we didnt go into Iraq we would only be subject to attacks every few years...

You do understand that those attacks were in retaliation for policies that the US had implimented(Supporting Saddam, Supporting Syria, Supporting Egyptian "democracy", Supporting Isreal) right?

You also understand that an attack every few years is pretty much nothing, and that an increase in preventative measures by increasing funding of the FBI, CIA, and local authorities instead of spending the money on Iraq would serve to better prevent those attacks than further instigation?

The war in Iraq is not about terrorism, its about hegemonic/strageic control over the Middle East. It always has been about power, and always will be about power.

Strangely enough, even though TT is trying to bash the right, I think its a pretty fair cartoon. I really liked it.

Pff, TT is always trying to bash the right. I dont think, that after so many cartoons doing so, he can even make a point without doing so.

Hell, if a big cache of WMD's had been found with Saddam Hussien personally giving them to Osama Bin Laden while discussing the easiest way to transport them and use them in the United States, setting up the infastructure to do so, smoking methamphetamines, shooting heroin, and decapitating captive reporters who had been sodomized, i dont think that TT could make a cartoon about it that didnt criticize the right.
