IF you dont mind me starting a real debate, what exactly did LBJ's "War on Poverty" entail. I can say that in many areas "it"(and by it, i mean reducing poverty, not specifically LBJ's plan) is showing promise (China and other Asian nations for example), but is doing shittily (and will continue to do shittily) in Africa (Hey guys, in order to get debt relief, you have to privitize your water utility and supply, isnt that a swell idea?!)
