It's just a silly narrative being painted with three random pictures. Michelle Obama wasn't upset about anything, that's just one of her default expressions. The "selfie" that happened during this event (the Mandela funeral) drew similar responses, but the photographer set the record straight.
As another person whose default setting is :-(, I feel sorry for Michelle. People constantly ask me, "What's wrong?" Then I'm forced to :-) when I have nothing to :-) about, so that people won't think I'm :`-( when I'm honestly not.
Mine is >:| neutral, but intense. I only sometimes get people asking me "what's wrong?" because most people are scared to approach me, but it's just how I look!
