I liked the Titanic and air-blower ones, as I seem to enjoy barbs from he other side, if they have a little wit or fun silliness in them. I also liked the Reagan one, which was pointed and expressive, albeit shallow (which one expects from cartoons, as they are not doctoral dissertations or anything, but come from a particularl point of view and advocacy).
As for the interaction, I take the point, but seeing how Lj and the community are sort of dying, I appreciate just being given something for us to talk about, or to throw brickbats at. Besides, I think he used to make comments, didn't he, months and months ago?, unless I'm confusing him with somebody else. Not everyone has the temperament to take shit from others.
But a dozen posts a day strikes me as out of hand, but that's for a mod to say.
The Politcal-cartoons community is *pretty* active, and in many instances is more current on breaking stories than some of the other communities. It was great when the mods here loosened up on the requirement that posts absolutely had to be editorial cartoons.
Yup, aside from ONTD, this is about the only thing that still keeps LJ interesting for me. Ever since Facebook emerged, the party has been dying, at least for the English- speakers.
At the risk of being accused of driving the three billy goats gruff off the bridge... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_life_expectancy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_life_expectancy)
Also: The dirty truth is that in Europe universal health care leads to (what I assume is) successful soccer players as opposed to . . . some pretty boy that probably sings in some band I couldn't bear to listen to? And acclaimed vocalists that helped revitalize a style as opposed to . . . pop stars with no notable talent whatsoever?
Ha ha, this shows you how in touch I am. I believe you are right, but I was certain that was one of the boys from One Direction. I'd chalk it up to me getting older, but I know that even in my youth I couldn't keep mainstream stars straight. I can wax poetic about the various lineups of Black Flag and the relative merits of Bad Religion's drummers, but show me the picture of a person that starred in a hugely successful movie and I draw a blank.
No, it's the dirty secret that elective dental care is not covered in socialized medicine, so people don't bother, whereas in the States overpriced dental plans often contain provisions for childhood braces.
