Do we have any evidence that Jeff's salary depends on his political beliefs?

He's said some things in the past that suggest that whatever he does is non-managerial, non-independent contractor, and paid by the hour. I can't imagine that's anything that requires him to be smart. This seems to be confirmed by his frequent work-day-hours commenting - like he's just sitting around on the computer, waiting for someone to give him something to do, waiting out the clock. I figure he must be manning the phones somewhere.
