It's worth remembering that we only have one side of the story. There were no independent witnesses who can tell us who approached who, who provoked who, who threw the first punch, etc. We can never know the other side of the story, because that side is dead.

I believe that Martin had the same right to 'stand his ground' as Zimmerman. Martin was under no obligation to answer any questions or interact with the wanna-be cop.

The plain truth is that the whole confrontation could have been avoided if Zimmerman had stayed in his car as the police advised. All he had to do was wait and let the police do their job. But he had to be the big damn hero. Well now he is. Hope he enjoys it.

You should carry a firearm if it's legal where you live. Learn to shoot and practice if you don't already. If your state does not agree with our Constitutional right to carry firearms, carry the most lethal item that is legal.
