According to the linked post, the idea originated in the Netherlands and was a success. I can't help but think most of us would laugh at it in America.

I'm always vaguely worried that someone will send a raid to our house because of the lights and electricity bills. But when you have a lot of planted aquariums, I imagine it can be somewhat misleading. And I did just buy some strong LED lights...
