2003 was the height of the anti-war protests. They kind of fizzled after "free speech zones" became more common in 2004. That's also about the time everyone got distracted from the war by the collapse of the working-class economy.
It's amazing how the sight of a double amputee marine in good spirits crawling onto a bus regularly starts to shift public opinion around him.
Or were you confused about the decline from 63 to 53 against? That is odd, but not surprising given the economic Charlie Foxtrot that went down about that time. After, the media just gave up on Iraq. Out of sight, out of mind.
