I don't just blame creationists, but the greater anti-intellectualismregardless of political ideology, that is prevalent in school-age students. It might get better in college, but not in the classes I have been in.
Since anti-intellectualism leads to greater conservatism, though, why would you find that problematic? Isn't a triumph of conservatism over liberalism worth the sacrifice?
See, this is the problem with Bill Nye. He promotes liberal science, which denies the scientific truth of creationism in favor of discredited evolution, which Darwin recanted on his deathbed. Luckily, the conspiracy against creation science has been exposed. (http://www.humanevents.com/2010/06/17/the-atheistdominated-national-academy-of-sciences/)

I won't change because of evolution! If anything, I'll just mutate into a more degenerate form, as humans have been mutating from a perfect form for 6000 years and mutation is never beneficial.
