The problem comes when people conflate being disrespectful to religious people with some kind of violation of their rights. This is why Christians in America, Muslims in the UK, etc. have such ridiculous persecution complexes.

There's nothing wrong with objecting to unfair criticism and prejudice even when it's not a violation of your rights.

As long as there's no attempt to ban people being disrespectful then that's okay. I personally more than happy to call out certain opinions and attitudes as being bigoted and unfair towards religious attitudes (especially in regards to religions marginalised in my area such as Islam)
