"there's something that has come up in this country that didn't used to exist, which is envy"
that's plainly wrong.
OWS isn't about throwing a brick, or about entitlements.
"there goes mr.jenkins, look up to him, he works hard, he built a company, he's got a rolls royce, he's driving up the hill"
sure, look up to hard work. but the rolls royce don't mean shit; plenty of non hard workers have them. and plenty of hard workers don't.
"this is essentially what the terrorists do to us" WHAT?
"when you feel that shame, get your shit together, leave my shit alone"
the 1% keep taking all the shit; we can't get our shit together. the factories arent here. the jobs dont give real wages or benefits (save some union jobs--which are under attack)
It's interesting how someone who admits (boasts?) to not reading up on issues and to not staying even remotely informed can a) still have a very long-winded and passionate opinion about something and b) attract the approval of many people (though it does suggest who those people standing in approval are). At least he admits to being a blow-hard, on occasion.
Sounds like Adam Carolla's been reading a little too much of Erick Erickson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erick_Erickson)'s tumblr again.
The founding principles of the tumblr and the “53 percent” meme itself is flawed. It is true that 47 percent of Americans did not pay net federal income taxes in 2009 — the number is unusually high because of the depression in incomes following the recession — but it is completely false that only 53 percent of Americans pay taxes.
For example, if you look at state and local taxes, the working poor actually pay a higher percentage of their income in these taxes in every state except for Vermont. In “Alabama, for example, low-income families (which make less than $13,000) pay 11 percent of their income in state and local taxes, while those making more than $229,000 pay just 4 percent.”
C'mon. The left is pretty brazen about only talking about federal income tax as well.
We talk about record low corporate taxes. We leave out the portion of FICA they pony up. And totally ignore that states have been getting most of their revenue from business taxes.
Thank god he went and hes now using a spell checker for his threats, because before he couldn't write a single sentence without a lot of spelling or grammatical errors. And that's important for people with DOX, ya know????
