Torture doesn't WORK!

That's why there are RULES to follow. You get more info from "honey" than from "vinager"! Dumb-nuts! Tis' why it's ILLEGAL to torture prisoners or people that you have physical/mental control over!

Hopefully the next time you get pulled over for a ticket, the cop beats your ass instead of asking nicely....

So many idiots out there....and you're one of em!

HA! Typical RIGHT wing-nut thinking.

It's called watching and listening....you put them (a few in a room)...and listen in on their BS...and then put it in a database. It all comes down to number crunching. sure they will lie 90% of the time....but you ask them over and over...and they forgwt which lie they were using...and the facts build up...as you cross reference items...from multiple sources.

DUH

Illegal according to what? The Geneva Convention? They're terrorists; they have no rights under the Convention.

Not when apprehended on battlefields outside US borders.

Terrorists? Define the term? Were WE not "terrorists" during our revolution? Attacking good king George? Our founder and sovereign?

Not that I'm siding with the terrotists, but...

I think some significant distinctions can be made between what I would call terrorist (9/11 hijackers) and legitimate guerilla freedom fighters (US revolutionaries) but the lines are not always that clear. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Triple DUH.. to you too!

No. The Revolutionaries wore uniforms, openly carried weapons, and didn't purposely target civilians.

Sure they do...they just don't have sovereign rights.

Hopefully we will conveign some good court dates for our office holding terrorists....GWB et. al.

They couldn't find a clue if it was jammed up their collective assholes!

Rights are not given by governments or by "conventions."

Rights

From: [identity profile] johnraptor.livejournal.com
On this point, I have to agree with you. "Rights" as our founding fathers thought of them, belonged to all people (granted, their definition of the word 'people' was a little narrower than ours). The government didn't give right, it was just there to ensure them.

Just because the letter of the law (the Geneva Convention) allows for torture in certain cercomstances doesn't make it right.

Israel has some terrorism issues and even they know that torture is not useful in gathering useful data.

Well we're not using torture as most would think of when talking about torture.

Israel is notorious for the use of torture in cracking prisoners, and justifiably so.
