I suppose we could say that part of Obama's job has been to rein in American hubris and clean up the excesses of the Dubya years, but it does play into the Republican narrative that Democrats are weak, no?

Because they're blocking it, apparently, by making requests for twitter.com go to addresses other than Twitter, by hijacking DNS. On the other hand, if you use those DNS addresses (which are Google Public DNS, for the record), when you ask THEM where Twitter is you get to Twitter.
