The part about Israel being under constant attack since the date of her birth, and the part about how the Egyptians, Jordanians, and the rest of the Arab world basically left the Palestinians out to rot.
see, i rember at least half that (intresting as most of it is now outside my life time). israil has also been the blegerent at least once (suze) tho im not denying that its nabours have, untill recently, been trying very hard to see the end of israil.
This is untrue. Read the reports by Amnesty International or the other six or so human rights organizations who investigated and you will see that there weren't rockets launched out of hospitals, or people holed up in schools, or Hamas fighters using civies as human shields (though IDF soldiers did so) etc etc. Way to buy into the propaganda.
It's a clusterfuck seen from any angle (and yes - both sides have committed abominable crimes against humanity), but I find myself favoring Israel in most cases, considering the fact the entire region wants her wiped off the map.
Just my (unpopular - at least in liberal circles) two cents. :)
Sorry, elaboration: there are reports written by IDF soldiers that they would bomb Gaza without any resistance and often would not even see anyone on the ground. There was just rubble. And what about barricading civilians so they can't escape the use of white phosphorous? It burns til there is no oxygen, leading to organ failure since the burns continue, even after attempted treatment.
According to reports, there was one instance of a Hamas fighter attempting to hijack an ambulance, but then the ambulance driver threw him out. It's just an excuse to try to justify the fact that Israel blocked medical aid.
Sorry for my comments being so divided up, but here is a good link:

Check out the section called "The Media's Double Standard." Any knowledge of the sheer numbers will show that Israel's violence toward Palestinians is far, far greater in force and impact than any retaliation. It drives me how people exaggerate Palestinian violence and downplay the systematic killing by Israel.
Their saying is "A land without a people for a people without a land," but the Palestinians were already there.
I know what Breaking the Silence is. There were even IDF investigations on several of their claims.
For Breaking the Silence I agree that most of those things probably happen on separate individual level. However if you read the reports most of them are hearsay "friend of a friend who was in that unit..."
White Phosphorous was used for illumination not to kill people. Those were unfortunate accidents of war. Just like when a building with civilians inside was bombed due to miscommunication between units or the family of a prominent Gaza doctor died from a tank shell right before he had an interview with Israeli TV. Unfortunate and awful accidents.
As for ambulances - you saw two of many incidents when terrorist use UN/Red Cross vehicles to smuggle weapons.
You can continue the list... one of the reasons Israel stopped allowing metal plumbing pipes and fertilizers into Gaza because they were making rockets out of them instead of fixing their infrastructure or growing food.
Ducky, you know how difficult it is to have something balanced on internet. Plus it's not fun. Yes, I'm a bit angry and biased. But that's mostly due to my friends and family living constantly under attack. My niece in Sderot is only 5 but she knows never to go too far from the buildings because she has only 15 seconds to hide when alarm sounds.
On the other hand palestinans do everything possible to de-humanize themselves in the eyes of israelis...
