In the article i linked before, it states and 33% of healthcare costs are administrative, so I'd bet that 20-25% is about the true costs.
Also, thank you for proving my point that there needs to be a public option to avoid the fine for not having healthcare (the point of the dailykos article you linked)
look, the Baucus version of the bill is a total mess, I can't disagree, and the major reason its a big mess is that it doesnt have a public option and Baucus is a right leaning democrat in the pocket of health insurance.

And I'm saying your article overstated it, as my link references the other studies.

The kos link was only for Baucas. The rest i would never subscribe to, they're insane.

Baucas's plan is no different than what the Democratic legislature put together in Massachusetts.
Heritage is a right leaning organization so if they say administrative costs are in the 12% range and a left leaning article from Taibbi claims 33% than its reasonable to put the true costs in the 20% range.
Only Baucas' plan is the only one without a public option for like the 3rd time. I can't be blamed if you refuse to understand this.

Heritage is sourcing the studies. Taibbi isn't sourcing anything.

But the chances of it being added to the public option plan is a very good one if the public option doesn't die on the vine like it probably will.
"But the chances of it being added to the public option plan is a very good one if the public option doesn't die on the vine like it probably will."
You'll have to better explain what you're saying here.
Also I can site studies that says there is no harm in smoking but that doesn't make it so. Even if adminstrative costs are in the 12@ range and im sure that they are higher, thats double what it costs in Canada.
Maybe it wasn't clear from before, but I am completely against the Baucus fine without the public option, and you're right to oppose that part of the bill.

I'd like to add that on a personal note I don't have health insurance and make too much money to be on medicaid or any other type of aid program. (I work on average 45-50 hours a week in New York City) The public option is my best bet for getting health insurance.
After a while I stopped hearing "boo" and started hearing "moo". Very appropriate for right wing cattle. I fail to see how they can call themselves real Americans while threatening a guy who is protesting peacefully. Isn't that our right as American citizens? If they are being the voices of dissent, shouldn't they allow others to represent their opinions as well? Shouting at him is one thing, but threatening violence enough that the capital police need to follow him through the crowd is just fucked up.
Ugh, the nerve of some people. Although I've been known to shout down preachers on my campus who were yelling about how all college kids are sinners and that women in college are loose evil feminists and should be married and at home making babies, I never threatened to beat him up. However, I did lead a round of Rocky Horror fans in a version of the time warp and advertised the Satanic Mechanic's shadow casting to those who were watching. The best was when another preacher came by and told everyone that that guy was a jerk and he didn't represent Christians as a whole. He was very respectful and kind. I actually listened to him.
but I certainly didn't feel threatened by it - I mean, the police were 10 feet away. Really, you felt ok due to the cops being 10feet away, well clearly it's not a threatening statement ... now let's take the police away and ... oh shit!
*applauds* That guy is either a hero or really does have balls of steel! Pretty courageous thing to do, I reckon. Now if only there would be more people on his side there.
I wonder if you could eliminate the morbidly obese bloc from voting by firing a small EMP near polling centers in 2010. Should knock out all the Rascal scooters in the area.
The reason for this was simple: we were Americans. Our partisan politics were shown to be trivial in the face of a greater threat.
Over the next year, we started hearing the drums of war for war's sake, and the American taliban blamed the whole thing on the gays. But I still remember giving blood the morning of the 13th.
9/12 was our finest day as Americans. And then we ruined it.
I dunno, if the positions were reversed and it was some guy carrying a sign that said "Obama = Hitler" I think he'd get the exact same reaction, a lot of booing and yelling. Could have been much worse.

Except that it isn't. The study linked via the Heritage piece discussed that.

12% is correct and a very low estimate.
