Today is the day Glenn Beck is rallying assorted teabaggers, Larouchies, and miscellaneous malcontents in Washington DC to protest against the President and the imaginary horrors he will soon unleash upon us. To mark this special day, I'll post (again) this Colbert bit from earlier in the year on the Beck 9/12 project-
PS- Before the comments get going, I'll just say that people like Glenn Beck don't make me angry. They get off on that. It's performance art, like a male Ann Coulter. If he believes more than half of what he says, I'd be very shocked. It's theatre, people.

Date: 2009-09-12 03:48 pm (UTC)I say the same thing about Rush Limbaugh, but so many idiots take these people seriously. I was also unaware that Chuck Norris is an "author."
But even though it's "theatre," I cannot stand Anne Coulter. Listening to Limbaugh, Beck or Coulter makes my teeth grind. It's like watching a comedian that isn't funny, but also racist and homophobic.
But thanks for posting that Colbert video. I don't watch TV so I miss stuff like that, (as well as the 99% that's total crap.)
The satisfying thing is that these people are really upset because there's a black man in the Oval Office. I have a friend in Florida who witnessed prayer circles, complete with gnashing of teeth and crying, on her college campus the day after the election.
That vision gives me comfort.
