Personally, I like Obama, I think he's a neat guy. I also think that he's suffering from the Carter curse. Smart, nice Presidents simply don't seem to be able to be effective in the position.

As long as he can learn from Carter and Stevenson, he'll do better. I think the first order of business is canning Emanuel and finding a true congressional operator.

So he's elected, and they forgot to warn him that he's dealing with stupid people? Considering he was a Senator, he should have known that, right? But just in case, here's the first rule of government service they should have told him when dealing with Congress: Never get into an argument with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
