I remember a British MP suggesting that every parent could send their child to private school if they just made sacrifices like not buying a new car.
It's impressive how much privilege it must take to make people not realise that not everyone can afford a new or even a good car even if they wanted to

My parents made a lot of sacrifices for me (seriously, I have great parents) but there was no way I was ever going to private school.
