As a web designer by trade, can I just say: "go fuck yourself, AP. You will fail, and fail hard. Deservedly so. If even the RIA-motherfucking-A gets it, you know it's a bad idea. Do the research, AP, that's what you're supposed to be good at."
I'm not worried about it, since I can't picture a way for them to "infect" my shit through an RSS feed (I don't know XML too well, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't embed that kind of content). I've already largely given up on the AP as a news source anyway, so if it comes down to it I'll just stop reading their articles. I stopped buying MP3s, CDs, and DVDs/BRDs when the stuff was loaded with DRM. Now that it isn't so prevalent I've gone back to buying. I give AP's "plan" a year at most...and the AP another five.
Our cluster of public radio stations is dropping the AP later this year, because they wouldn't cut us a deal for being a cluster. Their loss is two peoples' salaries...
