He just said he would make sure people weren't doing meaningless tests that didn't add value to the diagnosis to increase survival.

He ALSO said he would focus on waste that doesnt help ANYBODY get better.

Since all these right-wingers seem confused, OBAMA ISN'T EVEN ADVOCATING SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE. That is a myth of the right wing. All he's advocating is a public option for those who have no health insurance.

That is NOT a corruption of medical ethics - since physician assisted suicide was voted BY THE PUBLIC to be allowed in Oregon.

The DOCTOR does not control what insurance will cover - without insurance he can't submit the patient for chemotherapy, which means they have NO CHANCE for survival in the doctor's opinion.

The doctor offered the only other alternative available in THAT situation.


The problem is the LACK OF COVERAGE of those patients. The doctor's originally SUGGESTED CHEMO -- which is why it was submitted to insurance to be turned down IN THE FIRST PLACE.

The doctor has to consider that IF he cannot administer a procedure to save his patients life, that he can at least OFFER an alternative that MINIMIZES SUFFERING. THAT is within the realm of medical ethics...

Your complaint should be with the insurance company --- which means you should use this as an example to AGREE WITH OBAMA's PUBLIC OPTION.
