I'm often confused by cartoons that demonstrate someone doing something inadequate, but provide no recognizable better option. If there was a fire in my house and all I had was a squirt gun, then I'd be using it as best I could. Throwing it down and running away seems like a worse choice.

Humm I would be afraid of how hot and huge the fire got. One could be baked alive in a shelter, or suffocated as the fire sucked out your oxygen.

But I guess the fire was not as big as the Dresden fire storms after the allied bombings of 1945.
