Feminism isn't dead, nor does it need to die. Like most ideologies, and actually quite a lot more than most, it changes to suit time and place. Sure, there's still first and second wave types out there, and I'll agree, they're ideas are largely irrelevant. But as for being a dead movement? Far from it, it is vibrant and well disputed, more so than pretty much any field of academia. There's still challenges for feminism, and there always will be, it's not just about equality you know (on this point, there is also a growing cohert of men's rights activists, and they're starting to get their arguments coherent).
And this is someone who often finds himself on the other side of the feminist discourse (often, ha! in feminism I am The Other :P), and who often disagrees with the feminist movement (eg: I think that there is too much focus now on equality issues, which whilst they still exist, are not as harmful as issues of genderfication).
