Accurate except the mallet actually smacks the monkey's neighbors instead of him.

Technically, it would hit both the monkey AND his neighbors. :)

While the neighbour's secretly whispering "pull the lever, pull the lever!"

And the other neighbor, who claims to talk to God, is whispering "Don't worry about the mallet, it will bring you all the bananas you will ever need...and maybe even a blowjob!"

I thought it was forty blow-jobs?

God-damned mullahs lied to me, then.

That's it. They can have their stupid suicide belt back. I quit.

And there's this one weird monkey wandering around lately saying HIS banana will protect him from the other hammers.

Or something.

I think the "neighbour's" are too busy mourning their dead children.

That's only when the hammer actually strikes.

(and it's "neighbours", my "neighbour's" was a contraction of "neighbour is")

...but either the monkey's mysteriously unharmed or some other monkey pops up like Kleenex to pull that lever again...

Well, monkeys are notorious for breeding...

Hmm...perhaps a rabbit would have been better.

Test question #2: Why is it that the Palestinians are always the ones breaking the cease fires?

Date: 2009-01-15 05:34 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ice-hesitant.livejournal.com
Because they aren't? The ceasefire was a restriction on the firing of weapons, not their import. Hamas kept it in good faith and arrested anyone trying to fire rockets. AFAIK, no rockets hit Israel this time around until Israel broke the ceasefire.

Hamas has many faults too, of course.

It's not like the people stepping out of line had their land stolen from them and have been perpetually ghettoized and deprived of any rights of self-determination. These savage, stateless non-citizens of occupied territories refuse to even acknowledge the inherent right to exist of the occupying power!

Puh-leaze.

It's exactly because of that sentiment (once you peel away the sarcasm) that explains why we continue to see violence and death on such a tragic scale. Israel's latest response may be disproportionate and ill-advised, but I really can't blame it for being a bit trigger-happy when it has been attacked continuously by those who wish its complete obliteration ever since its inception.

If one were to extrapolate from your argument, then the United States should immediately dissolve itself and give all its territory back to the descendants of the native tribes. Australia, Japan, any pretty much every other country extant today would similarly cease to exist.

The point is that Israel exists, has existed for over sixty years, and is not going anywhere. Until it is universally acknowledged and recognized as its own sovereign state, we will continue to see this tragedy replay itself over and over, ad nauseum, until the last syllables of recorded time.
