Apparently McCain was on SNL last week:

McCain gives advice to Democrats:

(I thought the camerawork/directing was a little off at parts, but overall amusing)

McCain advises Americans to vote for someone who is "very, very, very old"

My favorite bit: "I don't know if this is pro-gay or anti-gay, but jamming gay-dar is not a federal responsibility. That's something best left to state and local government"

There were a few funny bits, but overall I found both of these to be less entertaining than the rest of the episode.

I like that he's a lighthearted guy and can make fun of himself.

He should be careful, though. He could end up with "Leslie Nielsen Syndrome." We all know Leslie Nielsen from the Airplane and Naked Gun movies. But could you imagine him in a serious, dramatic role now? Not a chance. If he were in a role like that, I'd just keep waiting for him to deliver a Lt. Frank Drebin line and would have a hard time taking him seriously.

If McCain does too much comedy like this, I'm afraid the same thing will happen to him. If he wins, I'm sure I'll be waiting during his entire first State of the Union for him to mention Gay-dar.

Those were great. It's nice to see that SNL isn't entirely sucking these days.
