No no no. They've been committed, it's only that the U.S. has been on the winning side (even when the the U.S. didn't win) and the victors tend to ignore their role being played in war crimes comitals.

Let's put this in perspective.
Just about every politician in the Republican Party is, in world political terms, the extreme right, excepting most aren't fascist. Being a Dem, Hillary is for America, almost left-wing. Which is about the same as most traditional Middle-of-the-road European Politicians. Good ol' fashioned Marxists are your actual left wing.

And I just can't picture her dressing up like that even for fun of a certain kind: it doesn't seem to fit the rest of her persona.
But I'd be happy to be wrong: but probably not quite as happy as William Jefferson Clinton.

Of course, I'm theorising ahead of my data, but if you know better, please share. Gossip like that happens so rarely.

Gordon Bennett....that's pretty Draconian, anyone would think you chaps had bombs going off regularly.

From the 70's through to the turn of the Century, Londoners had semi-regular bombings, courtesy of the Boyos and financed by Noraid (with the odd bit of Bank-Robbing and drug dealing to shore up accounts). We imprisoned a lot of the wrong folk; often, it seems, on the strength of their Irish accents. Thank god we didn't have the Death Penalty.

This sort of 'kneejerk legislation' is often utter crap, and has to be repealed in embarrassing circumstances, normally with financial compensation for those imrisoned by it, & a slap on the wrist from human rights folk, or in the US case, some constitution challenge.

I was planning a trip across the pond to visit relatives and friends....y'know what....I might just pass. America's getting way too scary. And I come from a country where we're monitored just about all the time we spend outside of our houses. I suppose one is comfortable with what one knows and understands.

Ah, but there is an implication that the 'emotive despite' is in conflict with 'the facts', which is something you may wish to clarify. Because to me they seem entirely consonant. I just wondered if and where we diverged, and of course, facts would be useful in this circumstance.

It's not a conflict, but a disinterest. The black and white version of the events is by definition ignoring the unavoidable grey-areas and skewing reality.

I personally believe his views on executive privilege are bad for the US, and this leads me to believe that he isn't right for the job. Notice at no point during the previous statement did I need to say "He's just like that bad man in that film. You didn't like him, did you?"

I have often myself thought that, for example, GWB would make a damn fine Poker buddy/drinking companion.
Be that as it may I cannot be 'disinterested' in things that seem so contrary to what I consider to be reasonable and responsible behaviour in government, especially in the most powerful government in the world at the moment, with which we have been the closest of allies for some considerable time.
Non-normative analysis eludes me in this, alas.
Also, we should be able to convey the general argument without becoming opaque through the use of technical terms, jargon, or polysyllabic exactitude; mainly in order to avoid tedious semantic explanation: but I find I am wanting in this, despite my legendary laziness. Alas again.
I find I cannot but 'engage', and when that happens I hope my chums will keep me in check, or at least stop me from making too big a fool of myself.
Often it appears, we suffer from the same faults: which is why I like you.
