There maybe some disagreement over which of our past leaders was the worst. I nominate James Earl Carter. And if his drubbing in the media this past week is any indecation, I am not alone is this opinion. The New York Sun
1. Don't be sore that the best president was Republican. 2. Don't think Clinton had only 3 scandals and the largest retro active tax increase in history.
No, no no..I caught that part. I was looking for a documented source that shows the differences between the old republicans and the new republicans. Can you provide that?
You went from making sure I knew you would be a Republican if it was the Republican party of the past and now it doesn't matter? You back peddling on me? Sounds like it was convenient for you to point it out and now it has backfired because you can't find the information you have to say it doesn't matter. According your list the best president was Abe and he was a Republican. And look at your picture before you say anything about people going party lines. It just screams I'm a loyal democrat.
1. You made damn sure to let me know there differences. 2. You make damn sure everyone knows you are a democrat. 3. You still havn't provided the evidence that I have requested.
Therefor until you prove otherwise the best president was a Republican, and this according to your own source.
Eats you up doesn't it that the best was the right.
1. Proof, thats all I asked for and you have yet to provide it. Not your word, proof. Until then your points are just unproven rants.
2. Look at your picture. It uses the simples of the two parties to express where your loyalties are. You are screaming Democrat with the icon you have chosen. Don't try to twist it.
3. We don't have a time limit...go for it. I can wait.
"I've already (happily) admitted that Lincoln (a Republican) was the best president (or at least, that he's a worthy candidate for the title). I've said so three or four times now." The best was a Republican according to your poll.
And if you read the past statements I did agree with you according to the poll you have provided.
Prove the hypocrisy please? So far you are wrong on all accounts.
1. Q: Your continuing refusal to explicitly state that Clinton was a better president than Bush or that FDR was a better president than Reagan speaks to your hypocrisy. You refuse to say the words because it's too painful, but won't deny it either, because you know it would contradict you previous statements. So you try to tred the middle ground with a dismissive "That's what the poll says. Who am I to argue?"
A: And if you read the past statements I did agree with you according to the poll you have provided.
Where is the refusal in that? Point it out.
2. "You also continue to call it "my poll" even though I've said that I don't agree with it entirely and don't consider it "my poll.""
Fair point...the poll you presented. There, thats more accurate.
3. "I use a donkey in my icon because it is the more liberal of the two major parties, and the symbol of the party to which I currently belong. Your attempt to turn that into proof of partisan hackery is flimsey at best. Perhaps you missed the part where I said I was thinking of leaving the party. And I doubt you read the link I provided in which I refer to the Democratic party as having a complete lack of courage and integrity. Look, I have an icon with Jesus in it too. I guess that means I'm a devout Christian, huh?"
People see the Donkey and associate with being a Democrat. Thats what your icon does. Same goes for picture of Jesus, unless its buddy Jesus. And I can say that I am going to leave the Republican party and become a hippy, that doesn't make it true..this is the internet, people can lie about their personal self becasue there is no way to prove or disprove it. So that, "I'm thinking of leaving" stuff doesn't count for anything.
4. "You'll have to be patient if you want evidence. Unless your purpose is to make yourself appear to be "winning" by repeatedly demanding evidence you know cannot be provided in a timely manner."
I said we don't have a time limit. That means I can wait for the evidence.
As long as you know you were acting like a child thats ok. I'm just impressed you actually went through all that effort. Thats what I want to see from you in the future if you want to debate.
