Dishonorable discharges are really only when you've broken the law big time - rape, murder, that sort of thing. Chances are, if you just state that you're a homo and there's no proof that you violated the UCMJ, you'd get an Other than Honorable or General discharge.

The discharges can be dishonorable, depending on the conditions (and whims).

Incidentally, a General or Under Other Than Honorable Conditions discharge is pretty much as bad as a Dishonorable discharge, practically-speaking.
