Have you ever listened to the National Lampoon "Missing White House Tapes" album? There are three worthwhile tracks: their re-edited "Checkers" speech ("...and inside that box was a little... just a little over 25,000 dollars. And I don't care what they say. We're going to keep it."), Nixon's big confession speech (the real voice of Nixon once again: "...I am a crook... Our effort has not been to find the truth, our effort has been to hide the truth..."), and finally, just for the h*ck of it, John Belushi as Billy Graham, giving the "swearing out" ("God Damn you, Richard Nixon! Richard Nixon, you son of a bitch! ...You lied your ass off! Get the hell out!").

And since then, editing technology has only gotten better. The rest of the album is kind of forgettable, if memory serves.

i agree 100%.

someone put a lot of work into this, and it is an excellent editing job, but the fact remains that it is making a straw man of george w, and at a time when he is burying himself enough without our help, the least we can do is preserve some shred of integrity to an office that has disgraced itself.

basically, lets let dubbya speak for himself*

"Seven million hydrogen-powered doctors...and the west wall of the Pentagon."

I see [livejournal.com profile] plizak's point, but LOL at this.

I don't know who does it, but there's a song called "Bushwhacked." It features a spliced Bush speech (which contains many of the same jokes as this one, plus a few not appearing here) laid over a remix of Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The USA." It is hi-larious.

And there's a Sunday Bloody Sunday mix, too.

Brilliant,
the only way you can tell it's not really Bush is he doesn't cock his words up
